Terms of Service
Version 2, approved 2 Nov 2026
These terms form the agreement between Bluetrino SA PTY Ltd (registration number 2014/096242/07) ("we", "us") and the organization that registers for ComplianceThing ("Customer", "you").
- The service ComplianceThing helps organizations manage compliance documents. It covers adopting frameworks, tracking required documents, editing, reviewing and approving documents, and assessing them against framework requirements. We may change features if the core service stays materially the same.
- Accounts Each user needs their own account, a verified email address and an authenticator app. Users must keep their credentials and authenticator private. The person who registers an organization confirms they may bind it to these terms. That person becomes its first owner. Owners and admins decide who joins the organization and which role each person holds. You are responsible for what your users do in the service.
- Your content You keep all rights in the documents and other data you or your users put into the service ("Customer Content"). You give us a licence to host, process and display Customer Content only to provide and support the service. You confirm you have the right to upload it, and that it contains no unlawful material. We process personal information in Customer Content as your operator under the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms.
- AI features Assessments, amendments, consistency checks and the assistant use third-party AI models. Their output can be incomplete or wrong. AI output is a draft for a qualified person to review. It is not legal or compliance advice. You are responsible for decisions made on it, including approving any document. We do not let our AI providers use Customer Content to train their models.
- Acceptable use You may not: try to access another organization's data, or probe or bypass security controls; disrupt the service or overload it, including through automated access we have not agreed to; resell the service, or use it to build a competing product; upload malware, or content you have no right to process.
- Fees Fees, inclusions and usage limits are as set out in your order or plan. We may suspend the service on 14 days' written notice if an undisputed invoice remains unpaid.
- Availability and support We aim to keep the service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We will give reasonable notice of planned maintenance. For support, email support@bluetrino.com.
- Confidentiality Each party keeps the other's confidential information confidential. It uses that information only for this agreement. This does not apply to information that is public, already known, or lawfully received from someone else.
- Liability Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit. Each party's total liability is capped at the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim. The cap does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, or breach of confidentiality or data protection obligations, to the extent the law prevents a limit.
- Term and ending The agreement runs while your subscription is active. Either party may end it on 30 days' written notice. Either party may end it at once for a material breach not fixed within 30 days of notice. Export your documents before the agreement ends. Once we confirm the closure, we delete Customer Content and your account information straight away.
- Records you must keep Compliance records often carry retention obligations. Organizations can't be deleted from inside the app; closing one goes through support, so you can check what you must keep and export it first. Deletion after closure can't be undone.
- General These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts hear any dispute. We may update them with 30 days' notice; material changes take effect at your next renewal.
